VLC for Mobile App Reviews

The only reason I couldnt give five stars is some audio formats arent compatible with the app. Other than that its an amazing app and better than any other in the app store.

This has to be one of the most worthless versions of VLC ever made. It literally cant even play a playlist. I guess they never considered folks with a music library consisting of more than one song. A true waste of time.

Vlc team plz make Samba.. SMB compatible on Vlc app.. Not complete without that, Looking forward from your side.. Thank U.

The latest update broke the SMB hard drive through the local network access. Now I cant see any of my files. Instead, it kickes me out of the app and it crashes when I try to open it. Please fix this. The app is unusable for me without this functionality.

this is one of the best apps I have ever used for video playing . fast, reliable, no scam or tricks.

I would say this is the perfect app for putting shows and movies on your iWhatever, but it has one fatal flaw, no AC3 audio support. Since a lot of video files these days are doing to the AC3 audio, its disappointing to spend time putting files on the app through iTunes just to open the file in the app and get the dreaded "audio file AC3 format not supported" message. Who wants to watch their video with no audio to go along with it? If AC3 is supported in the paid version, then I would understand, heck, even pay for it, but I dont know if it is, so Im hesitant to upgrade. I would say these days, about half of the files I try to put on here arent AC3 audio, so half of my videos I can watch no problem. Its just that other half that is a real let down, especially when that half is a movie or show youve been really wanting to put on your iPhone. -this review is done from the perspective of using the app on my iPhone 6s+ 128gb

The app worked great before the latest update. Now all it does is crash when trying to access files on the local network. Please fix as this is my go to app to play all my files!!

Almost perfect. While there are some minor issues with un-pausing videos losing audio for a few seconds, the only lacking feature is Picture in Picture support. Chromecast support would also be nice, but I dont think this is possible.

I use it everyday please make the transfer more reliable (I see maybe that happened in the new build) and please add a sort option...

Shot a video with IPhone and moved it to Vic app. The does not play in vlc though it perfectly works on iPhone photos app. Does not work even for 720p video shot with iPhone. Am not happy.

Pretty good now. Much faster playback than ot her apps. One problem. Video is always played in thumbnail even if Full screen playback setting is enabled.

Network streaming even simple music formats no longer works. V2.7.2 actually worked. This program gets trashier every iteration. Im not even sure how this is possible, unless you actively go out of your way to ruin functionality. First they remove AC3 functionality, now it is unusable to stream music. This program is garbage.

Needs update to allow playing iso files. The player is not complete yet.

This app is great, everything works well. However, when creating a file is hard because the hit box is off to the far left. This needs to be fixed since its so inconvenient to create folders. And add in organizing files from A-Z, its so annoying to just find what i want ffs.

Hi, the Vlc is a great app but can you update it with picture in picture and 4K feature. Thanks a lot for this great app.

After I update the app I tried to open mkv file on it this is the message I got " VLC could not decode the format "a52" audio aka ac3" There is still no sound after I update..
