VLC for Mobile App Reviews

In addition to playing a myriad of video and audio formats, VLC allows you to build a library of your own videos and music to your iPhone from your PC. No other video player I have tried can do this. No Cloud! Total freedom. VLC performs flawlessly on my Phone 4s ! Thank you VLC developers <3

Not sure what to say about this app. I downloaded it onto my Apple TV, it sees the drive connected to my Airport router, it let’s me log in, and … nothing. “Empty folder” is all it says. there appears to be no where on the web where this app is even explained. I’m disappointed. It’s kinda crappy that it simply doesn’t work and there is no explanation as to why.

Until the Empty Folder problem is solved when connecting to my Mac Mini,I cannot recommend the VLC app. I wish there is a document to explain the problem or solution.

Always says codec is not available, AC3 is not supported... This app used to work great but now its useless

I got this app for Apple TV to access media files on networked drives in my home as the description says it does, but dont be fooled as it basically just doesnt work. I have all my files in standard MP4 format and the drives use standard AFP protocols but this App simply cant connect. Its a joke. absolutely useless in every way.

I downloaded this app about a month ago and it connected to my computer network shares just fine. I dont know if it updated or what happened but it no longer connects to any network device. I love the PC app for VLC but the iOS version is useless to me without this functionality. Please fix!!

The value of open source is sadly lost on too many Apple fans. They dont know their history or care to know.

I found that it wasnt all that easy to load songs onto the app from a computer. Also the app itself looks terrible. A better interface would be nice. Reason for two stars is that it actually plays media (however terrible it may look) without many complications.

The app crashes my entire iPod every time I play a video. And since my gyroscope broke, every time I slightly move my iPod touch a popup appears which asks me to send an error report. Please disable that annoyance.

Been using VLC on my PC for years. Huge fan of the performance, simplicity, and compatibility with all file formats. Seeing it back officially for iOS is a godsend. Beautiful app. Works flawlessly. Very stable, great features, love the TV show sorting. Please keep this around forever it makes my days so much better. This app deserves 5 star all around. I have no idea why some others arent in love with it. Nothing comes close. Uploading files is extremely easy and convenient via iTunes or wifi transfer. I guess people dont appreciate VLCs history and the power and reliability you can get from a tried tested and true open source application. Love it guys keep up the good work!!!!

It needs some fixing - you cant move files into folder - can change the view Please fix those issues Then I think its 5 star for now just 2

Please make the playlist font dynamic as you have it in menu. For its too small on retina.

Please add some more codecs for Mkv files I keep trying to watch some shows but I get no audio because the video has A52 audio (aka AC3) so my audio wont play. the app is fantastic otherwise Id highly recommend it! Great work around for all the video files Apple wont let you sync to your device.

Two versions ago I would have given this 4 stars. Half the time it no longer downloads files from dlna onto the device (app storage usage increases but cannot view the file) or play the correct file. When it works it is a great app but as is I am very disappointed. Ac3 audio playback is not their fault.

Works well for most files I use. But lack of Chromecast support really limits it for me. It was supposed to be "coming soon" a year ago. I tend to use other apps now for that reason.

Not as useful as the old original version. Since AC3 audio is no longer supported by VLC for iOS, audio codec issues will be encountered when trying to play common mkv files. I am a huge fan of VLC on computers, but for iOS I now recommend “Infuse Pro” — a paid app on the iTunes store that does support AC3 audio.

When I first installed version 2.7.2 on my AppleTV 4, iPad & iPhone in January 2016, it was great connecting to my Home(Windows 10) PCs(SMB) and played all my videos flawlessly. For some reason, during mid-Feb2016, it stopped working on all devices, and displayed empty folder on AppleTV and blank pages on iPhone & iPad. Despite update to newer versions, 2.7.3, 2.7.4, 2.7.5 and now the latest version 2.7.6, it is still not working. I have no problem with the INFUSE app on all my devices. Please fix it.

Amazing app. Works wonderfully. One of the worst things about iOS devices was being forced to import and convert videos in iTunes. It took incredibly long and caused duplicate files etc. At last this app has made it easy to transfer and view video files of all kinds of formats to iOS devices. Thank you for creating this!

アップデートしたらネットワーク共有での接続が全く出来なくなりました。 NASにも繋がらなくなってしまったので問題ありです。 前のバージョンに戻しました。
