VLC for Mobile App Reviews

Crashes constantly when sorting or organizing. Also when organizing won’t always save the changes. Sorting is weird and sorts from last to first instead of the other way around. Plays videos great though.

Up until this version, VLC worked flawlessly, now all titles are bunched up on top of each other, so you cannot choose.

Love this player! But why don’t do HEVC 60 FPS playable? Especially .mkv format.

Love the Gesture of fast forwarding and rewinding, but adding multiple files into folder cause it to go reverse order of naming! There’s no way to auto sort I have to manually move them and when you have 30+ files per folder it becomes too much work. Please have a SORTING options by name/size/length/date...etc etc also it’ll be nice to have a view mode with no background screen cap.It makes some titles unreadable when the screen cap is all white like the font color plus the playlist just looks messy

App is great in general and the features work very nicely but when you open another app (multitask) or go home, it stays in what you were playing and the buttons are functional except the play button. You have to press “done” and look for the video again to continue playing the video but at least it starts where you left of.

This app is awesome and so are you guys keep up the good work.

When I use Files to tell the video to play in VLC nothing happens, when I browse files inside of VLC and tell it to copy the video over - nothing happens. Nothing works. It’s good on PC, not so good on iPad. I can live without PiP, but not playing the video in the first place... That’s a problem.

As far as file type support goes, this app is great. However, VLC desperately needs to be able to identify and organize Movies, TV Shows, and Music. It should use API’s from tvdb and IMDb, etc to acquire album art and display it in an organized way, and provide an integrated way of adding artwork manually if needed. Using the app should feel and look like browsing Netflix or iTunes when browsing for media. The interface should be stupidly simple to use and elegant. Do you agree? Leave a review asking for the same things! Let’s make VLC a true media center! ??

So I had a season of a series I was watching downloaded to my iPad and every time I watch an episode, I just hear sounds and can’t watch the entire episode coz it keeps on lagging

I downloaded the iOS app in order to stream to my Apple TV, because the tvOS app cannot resume playback after pausing (you can pause a video file, but pressing the play or enter buttons does nothing after this). Ridiculously, the iOS app sends only audio over airplay—no video! So either way, VLC’s apps have issues that ruin the ability to use them.

Add SMB v2 support & SMB v3 in future updates

Glad to see VLC is also on handhelds. I can now play my FLAC files on my phone. I hope they’re also developing a mobile version of their upcoming desktop video editor.

3.02: Automatically play next item option broken - for LOCAL files - works OK streaming. It ALWAYS plays the next item regardless of the setting when playing LOCAL files. TouchID not always offered as an option. Just most of the time. It just works, and even on iOS 7! Im on iOS 9 now but can really appreciate apps that support older platforms. Plays everything I throw at it with ease. Bugs seem to be quickly squashed. Streaming from a Mezzmo media server is rock solid. Apps that are free and get as many updates as this one does deserves 10 stars.

Please fix problem After pausing anything and switching apps you cant resume playing again you will need to close the item you was playing and open again

Downloads do NOT work after last update. Fix it!

Had to upload to get videos on my phone. Wish I could drag and drop from my pc but iTunes making harder and harder

Its user friendly... There is soooo many bugs

After IOS 11.2.6 it won’t save and play the file on my 6sP phone. Prior to the upgrade it was great! I would greatly appreciate this being resolved. Thanks :)

This last update again broke the Google dive function. After you log in and allow I get an error message that says invalid URL.
