VLC for Mobile App Reviews

If there was EVER a media player I would recommend for iOS, it’d be the VLC for the iOS! This thing is so smooth and functional this would be nothing short of what a mobile media player SHOULD BE!!!!!

I love this app. But I think its about time for a UI overhaul. Maybe a little more intuitive and more control for audio files/albums.

I notice that there are too many artifacts in the video playback compared to other players such as GOM Player. At one time I had no problems with the VLC player for iOS but it is too glitchy now. Can you please fix? Thanks so much. P.S. I do really like your wifi sharing. That works extremely well and fast in light of the fact that Apple in their “wisdom” changed how files are uploaded to apps in their latest iTunes update. FYI: don’t update your iTunes to the latest!

I read an article that says VLC has added Chromecast support as of version 3.0. Id love that feature but unfortunately Im on version 2.9 & there is no option in s app store for me to upgrade the app (•̪̀●́). Please tell me I can get the update w/o having to update my iOS first... iPhone X, iOS 11.1.2 *If you fix that & add stretch (Not crop) to fill screen I will give this app 5 Stars.

Why dont the mobile version and iOS version play iso files?

I will simply be leaving it at 2 stars. I have not read anything anywhere as to why this app still does not support PiP for iPad.

It’s a very good and handy app but in recent update when app find a bunch of videos and cluster those I can’t open it. By the way I use 6s.

Used this app for years on my MacBook Pro and love it. Sadly, the iOS version is not as reliable. Currently subtitles are not showing after update on iPhone X. Edit: Subtitles fixed. Thanks! 5 stars again.

Doesn’t consistently play audio and never auto goes to next video despite setting it correctly

Can’t stream video to Apple TV anymore

VLC for iOS is just as essential as VLC for your Mac/PC. It’s simply the best video player there is. This app bugs out every once in a while, but I find most of the glitches can be solved by killing the app and relaunching. I’ve been using VLC on my iPhones for years (and even longer on my computers) and love it. * There is one consistent and annoying bug that has been around for awhile that I would like to see squashed. This is the only reason for a 4 star rating. When pausing a video and leaving the app, then coning back to the app, the ‘play’ button no longer works. The only way to resolve this is to kill the app or exit the video and re-enter it. * Also, just like with the desktop version, it is easy to adjust the audio delay within a video in case the sound of a video is out of sync. Click the clock icon to get to the audio delay tweak settings.

Plays the audio but doesn’t play the video for some reason

For some dumb reason: I try to upload a video to Vk.com and it says “General error. Try again?” Can you please fix this!!!!!!!

I would give 5 stars if you take care of just one problem and that is how much or how many times I try I am unable to rename a file please rectify.

The player itself needs some work, but the main problem I have is when casting a video to the tv through Apple TV, I cannot browse my phone because if I switch apps the video stops playing in the tv but the audio remains. When I switch back to the vlc app, sometimes the screen resolution changes and doesn’t fit my full 65” 4K tv and there is black border. Then I have to force close the app and relaunch it. This is a bit annoying forcing me to not use my phone while casting a video from the app. Furthermore, since the last update, I’m unable to click and view folders of videos or delete videos on the app. I have to do it through iTunes. What happened ??

Grid/3 column view please

This is a very capable application that was able to pull files and audio playlists from my NAS share and play them. There appears to be a bug regarding only playing the first song in a playlist of each album when advancing through the laylist while having playback randomization turned on. If I notice this is fixed, or figure out why randomization appears to not work, I will update this review with five stars.

iOS is so ancient! You must do everything from your computer.. I see why so many people love Android
