VLC for Mobile App Reviews

Thanks for providing such a fantastic app. And free!!! Any plans to add Chrome cast capability? As far as I know the windows version has such capability?

As good as it is without the ability to cast to a tv this app is severely crippled.

3/13/18 I Love using this app, it Definitively plays every media format and the controls are intuitive. BUT since the Last update whenever i Hit pause on a Video and Leave the VLC app to do something else for a minute, when i come back to the VLC app, the Play button No Longer works. I have to back out of the video to the episodes List and hit the video again. Please Fix this

Ive been using this app for quite some time on my desktop and laptop computers and have been very happy with it. This version is no exception. It difficult to overstate the usefulness of this program to me. Thank you, devs, for bringing this high quality app to iOS!

Would love the ability to rearrange or sort media.

I like this app strongly, I see it as a reliable media center for iOS devices, but I hope focus on developing subtitle settings, especially about the appearance of captioning, I wish to add an option to put a black or any colors behind the subtitles it called “box”, to make the contrast between the video colors and the subtitles comfortable for eyes. OpenSub are not accessible again in v 3.0.2 in latest apple tv iOS (11). Reverted to os10 without any luck. There was a similar problem few vlc versions ago. Please fix.

You can browse ftp but you can’t play and download On tv version you can’t even browse ftp server it’s not possible to fw or rew vídeos on tv version on downloaded youtube videos, also not possible to resume videos after the pause on tv version. The new version became pretty much useless and annoying. to many bugs. Would be nice future on appstore to downgrade favorite programes as the new ones is a joke.

This is the fix to all your issues where iTunes won’t import your video since the format isn’t correct. Simply install this app and import via the iTunes Store. Currently plays mkv. Format which is amazing

I do love VLC. For every device I have except for iOS. Apple has mostly tied their hands so it’s stripped down to some basic kinda media player. ...but VLC is much more, it should be allowed to be naked and free but nooo. Maybe the next update will allow to cast from iOS. If not, it’s a goner for sure. ...bad Apple. Good VLC. Maybe I should out the Apple right along with it.

This is a great app and I have been looking for one like this for a while. It plays music files plus shuffles them, on repeat or not. But one thing that is kind of ugh is the interface. The files stretch all the way to the right and it seems kind of crammed.

There’s a new issue after the update. No videos from the iCloud Drive is imported. The app doesn’t work properly anymore. Fix it fast please!!!!! I use it for lecture videos for studying

Unfortunately this application is buggy. When I leave VLC then I come back, I am not able to restart my video. I need either to kill the app or close the video and start it again. Pretty annoying.

1. When I delete a folder, it deletes all files in all folders. 2. Even you moved files into a folder, you can still see the files outside the folders.

Removing support for ac3 audio? Garbage. This is a useless waste of bandwidth

It does the job for downloading and watching .webm files. It has an attrocious interface however. What is wrong with a ‘normal’ or ‘standard’ file browser? I would love an option to change the interface to normal folders. Also, there should be a way to play downloaded files immediately upon completion, rather than having to navigate around the player first.

The player keeps automatically dropping while playing but you can hear it playing the video

Upon wake up, hitting play crashes the app. Subtitles now work.

Why can’t I skip 60 sec like the previous update?
