VLC for Mobile App Reviews

No iOS11 integration

VLC is impotent in a crucial way - it cannot access the file system, it cannot access videos you shot with your iPad/iPhone, the only way to transfer any files to VLC is by using a desktop computer, which makes the app absolutely useless if you want it for any kind of workload autonomy.

Very glitchy

It’s extremely glitchy and takes a long time to download something from my local disk to my mobile device

Fix looping and subtitles.

The app should save your settings between videos, options set for subtitles and looping should be consistent when you turn off the app or switch videos. Looping should really be turned on by default however... Also, the menu scrolls weird, like it has to load several times while youre trying to scroll it, and thats incredibly annoying... Regardless, it allows me to play webm files on iOS, which isnt too shabby. Just please make settings consistent between videos and when the app is closed and reopened.

Best video player

Perfect app to watch movie, just copy the movie and sub amd it all sync perfectly without ads

Great app, but....

To be honest I don’t know where all of the bad reviews come from, only thing I have wrong with the app is the fact that the dimensions aren’t fit for the iPhone X yet. Hope they fix that soon?

UPDATE FOR IPHONE X PLEASE

Thanks

Essential app

This app is a must for anyone who has movies or TV shows downloaded to their computer that arent through the iTunes Store or a streaming site. With VLC, you can easily transfer the files from your computer to your iPhone (no matter what file format!). The playback controls are great. I love the gestures that allow you to swipe the screen to jump in 10 second increments. This app is powerful and very well thought out. Its one of my very favorite iOS apps. Thank you to the developers!

Needs so much work.

Has library options for all files(which doesn’t show all files), and tv shows. No movies? Deleting files doesn’t work most of the time. How do I delete these things I added using VLC when it won’t do it? Uninstall the app? Restore the tablet? Come on..

Chromecast?

Very good app. Works fine for me, but I wanted to be able to cast the video at chrome cast

Easy to use, never fails

Easy to setup and always works. My only real gripe is no chromecast support

No iPhone X support yet

This app is appreciated, however apart from the horrible UI on the episodes screen, it still doesn’t support the iPhone X screen. As for the episode screen, if you can’t show a picture without people’s heads cut off, don’t show the picture at all. Otherwise, I love this app

Files won’t export

Every time now I try to export a wav file but it ALWAYS freezes plz fix

So versatile

But this app really needs to handle being able to stop/pause when disconnecting from Bluetooth speaker.

Works perfectly! Needs iOS Files App support and DLNA/Miracast Play To support

As with the PC version, VLC is incredible at playing nearly anything. A near complete app however as it misses two seemingly obvious features. DLNA, Miracast Play-To and Chromecast casting to a TV is absent (Only AirPlay is present), and integration with the iOS Files app to move files between other apps and VLC.

Doesn’t work with Apple TV

Just downloaded the app onto my 4 gen Apple TV, which has tvOS 11.1... the app starts to open and then exits. Even rebooted the Apple TV, still doesn’t work. ?

Best Video App

Best app for watching movies and tv but needs to be updated for the iPhone X. Everything is cropped and looks terrible now. Update asap

Please add forks into Files!

Hi! Love the app. Please add access to the native Files utility in IOS. Google drive access is nice, however I would love to be able to access my local storage, and iCloud Drive. Having to copy files from iTunes directly into the app is tedious.

Does not support iPhone X

Title says it all. The developers of this app need to adopt modern iOS development tools like Storyboards and Auto Layout so their app scales to new devices.

Please include an option to manage and delete subtitle files!

Otherwise, this a functional app, even on an iPhone 5S.

Latest update broke a lot of things

Every time I transfer a movie through the browser link provided, the movie fails to open and play. Another issue is when I swipe left on a file to delete automatically swipes back to the right making it impossible. Not sure what happened but the latest releases have a number of bugs.
