VLC for Mobile App Reviews

Slow when starts

When I open the app, it freezes for sometime and then shows me the videos I have. And whenever I pause and resume the videos, the whole screen turns into green and then eventually sets back after few seconds. The freezing wasnt there with the previous versions but the green thing was.

Only use if you like subtitles

VLC loves to play subtitles - whether you want them or not. Yep. You have to stop the film and manually turn them off EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU ACCESS A FILM. Not once in preferences. Not once in a film. BUT EVERY SINGLE TIME, even if you just paused it to go check email, etc. This would be such an easy fix, but nope. Subtitles are hear to stay.

App on Apple TV Always Random

The app on Apple TV always lists my movies and shows out of order. It sorts them according to file type instead of name. If I create folders, they are always out of order. It has become very frustrating. I organized my files on my Mac according to name but the app still doesnt sort properly.

VERY good, but missing AirPlay for video

Its a great app, work as it should, but the AirPlay only Works for sounds not for videos.

Amazing

Love the iTunes transfer feature

Great app but just remember..

This is a great app and you can play almost anything on it. One thing to remember that it can be a huge memory hog. Now and again but you should delete the app and reinstall. It tends to collect either updates or just some sort of clutter. Otherwise really enjoyed you

needs fixing

sound quality not as good as other apps on iPhone 7, also needs a music media manager and it will be kickass. Love how it supports downloading files locally and other features from VLC desktop

Lack of WebDAV. Hope to add it asap.

Lack of WebDAV.

Mediocre

Nowhere near as versatile as the desktop app. UPnP detection no longer works, and barely worked to begin with. Not worth the download unfortunately.

Crashes on local network

Great media player. Streaming from local network used to work well. Now it crashes immediately after entering the local network page.

Another fine example of the superiority of free software

Only learned about vlc on ios a few minutes ago. The share on wifi feature is exactly what I needed but didnt was possible from within the apple cage.

‼Fantastic‼

Plays multiple file types flawlessly. Streams from my NAS with no problem. The perfect player for movies.

This app sucks. Period.

Where do I start? Anything you put into a folder, which you have to do one file at a time (thanks I have 100 videos to file), is not sorted alphabetically but in the order that you put them in the folder. When you exit the folder, you lose the ability to scroll unless you change the view for some reason… It doesnt start working again until you completely quit the app and start again. Fix the bugs and spend a couple minutes tuning up the app. Charge a dollar for it. I love vlc on my Mac, and hate it on the iPad

Upnp support broken

DLNA is now empty when entering with this version. Fix it

VLC is just the best iOS media player

The app is just common sense designed and EXTREMELY USEFUL: - the media sources to be played are literally universal, cloud included; - you can have plain FOLDERS in it; - songs to be played are editable, both their place in que and names; - app remebers the moment of song where it stoped playing; - even the playing rate is adjustable; - ... and it is completely FREE to that, with no nags or ads attached! I LOVE VLC and You will fall in love with it, too. :-)

A good app but...

A nice app but please make it compatible with VoiceOver and it will be perfect.

Nice player

Please add a sleep timer that stops the playback after defined time.

SMB

SMB Doesnt works with windows Domain accounts :(

Great app!

Please add settings to change default jump time on a locked screen while listening in background. Now its 60 seconds. 15 and 30 seconds would be better in some cases.

VLC

This is only a subset of vlc. For example the variable speed playback( useful for lectures , talks, etc ) is only in .5 increments as far as I could tell. Dont get this thinking it will be same vlc but only on your mobile device.
